In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • Set up and manage secure devices
  • Set up and manage burner phones
  • Select appropriate applications to secure information and communications
  • Secure your communications with sensitive local contacts
  • Protect information when crossing borders
  • Secure information during vehicle travel and at your accommodation
  • Safeguard hard copy information

Meet your instructor

Your instructor for this workshop has 35 years of security experience in government, corporate security, and security consulting roles. He has supported clients during various traveller emergencies, including major natural disasters, terrorist attacks, coups, and armed conflict. His extensive travels have taken him to diverse countries such as Syria, Somalia, Lebanon, Pakistan, and many other intriguing locations.

He is the author of The Guide to Travelling in Higher-Risk Environments and the Field Guide Series and has written multiple articles on travel security.

Training format

This workshop can be conducted remotely via video or in-person at your office. To ensure an optimal learning experience, remote sessions have a limit of 8 to 18 participants.

Our informal training format encourages questions and fosters knowledge-sharing among peers.

We offer remote workshops via Zoom or in-person sessions at your office. Detailed instructions for using Zoom will be provided in advance.

The workshop will be delivered in English, and all training materials will also be in English.
